Introduction

Mystic Birth Chart respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website or purchase a reading.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Free Chart details: birth date, birth time or an unknown-time choice, birth city/country, and selected focus. The browser preview does not require a name, account, or email
  • Checkout and order details: name, email, birth details, selected focus, optional notes, and partner details when a two-chart product requires them. For the Essential reading you may also tell us how you would like to be referred to; it is optional, kept with your order and used only to frame the reading's “Your Season Now” chapter
  • Payment information: processed through our payment provider. We do not store your credit card details
  • Usage data: anonymous analytics about how visitors use the website and which ads led to a purchase (see Cookies below)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and deliver your personalized birth chart reading
  • Communicate with you about your order
  • Improve our website and services
  • Comply with legal obligations

Free Chart and Session Storage

The Free Chart does not require an account or email. When you choose to continue to checkout, birth date, time, city, and focus may be kept temporarily in your browser's session storage so you do not need to enter them again. Session storage is cleared after confirmed fulfillment or when you use Start Over.

City-search text is sent to the configured geocoding provider so the browser can resolve coordinates and timezone. After a city is selected, the Free Chart calculation and preview run in the browser. Coordinates and chart results are not included in GA4 events.

If you request the optional PDF, the chart details are sent securely to our server only to calculate and generate that document. You may download it without giving an email address. If you choose email delivery, we use the address only to send the PDF unless you separately select the newsletter checkbox.

If you sign up for “Your week in the sky” from your free chart, we keep your email address, your birth details (encrypted) and your time zone to send one email each Monday about your own chart. Nothing is sent until you confirm from the first email; an unconfirmed sign-up is deleted after 7 days. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, which deletes your address and birth details.

If you ask the free question at the end of your free chart, your birth details and your question are sent securely to our server to calculate your chart and prepare the answer. We do not keep your birth details or your question for this. We keep a one-way code that recognizes the same chart (each chart has one free question), a one-way code of your connection to prevent abuse, and the answer itself, encrypted, for 30 days.

Data Storage and Security

Your birth details are used for the purpose of preparing your reading. We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data with third parties only as necessary to provide our services, such as payment processing or email delivery, and for advertising as described under “Sharing for advertising” below.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to measure how the site is used and which ads lead to a purchase. Visitors in Europe, the UK and Switzerland are asked first and nothing is measured unless they allow it. Elsewhere, anonymous measurement is on by default and can be turned off at any time with “Privacy choices” at the bottom of every page. Outside Europe, the UK and Switzerland we also use the Google and Meta advertising tags to show our ads again to people who visited the site or used a free tool (remarketing); turning measurement off in “Privacy choices” turns this off too. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland there is no remarketing unless you allow it. GA4 events are designed not to include names, email addresses, birth dates, birth times, birth cities, coordinates, notes, or report text. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

We use or may configure third-party services for Stripe payment processing, Open-Meteo city lookup, GA4 analytics, newsletter signup, and email delivery. Each provider has its own privacy policy. Birth details required for fulfillment may be attached to the Stripe Checkout Session as private order metadata and are processed only after payment is verified. They are never sent to GA4 as analytics parameters.

Partner Links

If you arrive through a partner's link (an astrology or tarot creator we work with), a cookie named promotekit_referral stores that partner's reference, and if you buy, the reference goes with your payment to our payment provider and to PromoteKit, the partner platform that calculates and pays the partner's commission. No birth details or reading content are shared with them. A partner's promotion code works the same way at checkout, without the cookie.

Your Big Three Card

The card and link you can share after your free chart hold only your Sun, Moon and Rising signs, plus a first name if you choose to add one to the card. They never include your birth date, time or place. The card image is made on our servers when you ask for it; a card with a name is not kept in any shared cache or record.

Sharing for Advertising (Do Not Sell or Share)

We do not sell personal information. Outside Europe, the UK and Switzerland, the Google and Meta advertising tags receive information about your visits to this site (pages viewed, free tools used, purchases) so we can measure our ads and show them again to people who visited (remarketing). Under California law, and similar laws in other US states, this counts as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Birth details, names and email addresses are never part of it.

You can opt out at any time with “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” at the bottom of every page: ads and remarketing then stay off in that browser, while anonymous analytics follows your separate choice. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as the same opt-out automatically, in every region.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing where applicable
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

Data Retention

We retain birth details and reading data for a reasonable period to allow for delivery, support, and re-delivery. You may request deletion at any time.
